Daly Hill Selections - Week 15 - (18/02/2017)

Well I hate to be defeatist but this sh*t looks done and dusted now. It all started so promisingly for the syndicate as the perennial losers Billy and JJ got off to a good start with the first leg of their doubles going in. Then it was the big one, Joey, Eddie and The Mover and the second part of Billy's double going head to head.

And in the worst possible scenario to make this challenge a contest Joey's Ballyandy struck to the front and ended our hopes of making some ground on our leader. Even worse for Eddie is that he had a substantial amount his horse in second and that would have seen him on the plane to Lanza and making it rain at Cheltenham if it had got up. JJ's last leg also came up short and even Moaty's guest selection at 6/4 got turned over, lets hope we are saving some sort of form for Prestbury Park.

Anyway enough of the doom and gloom we have 4 weeks left to make up the growing deficit between ourselves and Joey G.

MARKET MOVER - KRUGERMAC - ASCOT 3.00pm - 11/1 Win

After watching Clyne come up short and shake my head in disbelief on my racing post app as it described Ballyandy hitting the front, it is safe to say Saturday was not a good day. This was compounded by West Ham conceding a 94th minute equaliser to West Brom. I fly to Lanza next week hoping that Joey has left Costa Teguise in some fit state that I can still enjoy a beer without the usual ' Jesus is he your cousin?' comments. Sadly yes he is. On my selection it has basically be punted off the boards. It would have got some much needed fitness in its last run and its big enough of a price that I can make some sort of ground up.

JOEY GAMBLE - DADSINTROUBLE - HAYDOCK 2.40pm - 11/2 Win

After several voice messages from Joey laughing down the phone at us after his win he has more or less put the competition to bed. These are now desperate times for the rest of the syndicate and to say that Joey is enjoying himself is an understatement. This is not fake news it looks like Joey will be using our money to chminge the life out of himself in 4 weeks time. On his selection he says 'If it wins then Moaty gets a pass, if it loses then Dad really is in trouble and he gets his beating on route to Cheltenham'.

EDDIE CASINO - ANOTHER BILL - HAYDOCK 3.50 - 14/1 - Win

4g's came and went for Eddie in a Saturday that he will no doubt want to forget. (despite the fact I keep unintentionally reminded him of it every day). He is forgetting this near miss by cruising down to Marbella this weekend for a little break / getting off his nut on Bombay and terrorising the locals and not just with his suspect karaoke. On his selection he says ' Trainer had a few winners this week, a split ar*e is on the favourite so it is beatable and it is pretty much hail mary time in this comp'

BILLY BRIDLE - AUX PTIT SOINS & AIR HORSE ONE - 25/1 Double

After landing the first leg of his double with Native River Billy thought he may have a chance of landing some money, but sadly his horse was nowhere near the class of the front three in the syndicate shootout. Rather than go the route of a higher priced winner Billy is once again backing himself to land a double. I personally don't like his chances but it is a month to Cheltenham and he usually comes alive this time of year. On his selections he says 'Aux Ptit is back over hurdles and Air Horse One has a winning knack now after being a long time loser like me'

JJ JETPLANE - THE WORLDS END & TEMPLEROSS - 21/1 Double

JJ celebrated his birthday this week but sadly couldn't mark it with a winner in the challenge. He has been shrewdly raiding supermarkets stealing carrier bags as the way he is going he wont have 5p for Cheltenham. He like Billy is in the loser club and is clutching at big price doubles to try to get back into this. On his selections he believes that 'Templeross is well handicapped and The World End is on a hattrick' Waving 2.5k in peoples faces on the coach back from Cheltenham seems like a lifetime ago.
