Happy New Year! We are all hoping that 2017 is going to bring us more punting luck than the back end of 2016 did. All of that is forgotten now though and the lads have been getting their teeth into something other than mince pies. Yes that's right the form book. In a week where most of us are back to work, we look forward to the weekend to give us some semblance of feeling alive. Cheltenham is a little over 2 months away and we can already hear the roar in the distance.
Now to find a winner to fund our two days of carnage at the festival!!
EDDIE CASINO - CLOUDY TOO - 3.00 SANDOWN - 14/1 EW
Eddie has been patiently waiting to see if redundancy is a reality and seems to have already spent his redundancy cheque before it has been announced. He might want to get over to Lanzerote sharpish though as it sounds like his brother is now Costa Teguise's most wanted man. Everyone seems to be keen on the final of the veterans race for their selections. Maybe it's because we feel like we trust the old boys to give us one more glory moment or maybe its because we think we must be able to pick up something if a few of us jump in on the same race. On Eddie's selection he simply says 'If it p*sses down, then in p*sses up. If it stays dry my hopes go goodbye. This race is like a p*ssy waiting to be f*cked. Enough said.
BILLY BRIDLE - AERIAL - 3.00 SANDOWN - 10/1 WIN
Following another loser last weekend Billy has been seen praying to the betting gods that something will fall his way. His reluctance to punt on anything reasonably priced each way could be hurting him but he continues to be bullish with his selections. Billy has had a good week though, his house purchase now seems to be going through and the Groupon offer for a night at the dogs is back so he is feeling particularly chipper. When asked why he picked his horse he replied 'Because I like ginger mermaids' Simple and eloquent as always.
MARKET MOVER - LOOSE CHIPS - 3.00 SANDOWN - 20/1 EACH WAY
Once again the place monkey delivers as my horse who was punted into half the price decided to finish 3rd. This week I am changing tactics to see if I can get a larger priced horse into the places so I can claw back some of the sh*t show I have been producing for the last 8 weeks. Loose Chips found it a bit too far last time but this distance is right up his alley and the soft ground shouldn't matter too much either. Fingers crossed for a big run otherwise I may give up punting all together.
JJ JETPLANE - GAS LINE BOY - 3.00 SANDOWN - 10/1 Win
After 2 weeks putting up doubles as his best bet (i suspect still being drunk) JJ has decided to go back to basics and has joined the other members of the syndicate in the 3.00 at Sandown. Without a winner in the first 8 weeks JJ and Billy are propping up the table. You would think this is embarrassing for JJ but after a few of the stories he has told us while getting messy in the city I think the lad is maxed out on shame.
JOEY GAMBLE - ROCKY CREEK - 3.00 SANDOWN - 9/1 Win
As usual Joey is the last to pop up, but this time I have managed to get in contact with him before the weekend starts which is an absolute grade A f*cking miracle. After spending a few days in Lanzerote for new year and giving us some seriously cryptic messages about his behaviour over there, I am surprised he hasn't been arrested or worse. The only reassurance we got from him being alive was that he confirmed to us that he is still taking Moaty's bar. On his selection Joey simply said 'Because he wins, and my lead goes up and you lot buy me v*gina, and I love v*gina'
Sounds like the prize of this comp is going to be a bottle of Birmingham's finest Champers and a visit to Legs 11.
