Daly Hill Syndicate Selections - Week 5 (10/12/2016)

It is safe to say that our little experiment in taking on the bookies is currently about as successful as Derek Chisora being able to prove he isn't clinically insane. We normally have half decent success when we punt but this challenge is really highlighting a bad run for us. Well apart from Joey Gamble who will be able to live in the fantasy world of profit for a few more weeks. Let's see what the rest of these jokers will come up with this week.
EDDIE CASINO - KNOCK HOUSE - 12.55 DONCASTER - 11/2 WIN
Following his disappearing act from the whats'app group Eddie has returned to under a cloud of mystery. Was he really that disappointed that we didn't watch his golf video? Did he punt his brains out midweek and suffer some car crash losses? Who knows but with 3 months to the Festival his return has been welcomed with open arms. He was the first in with his selection this week and provided an interesting insight into his thought process 'He's left the Channon yard who couldn't train a kangaroo to jump so should see some improvement now switched to McCain'
BILLY BRIDLE - NO HASSLE HOFF - 2.25 CHELTENHAM - 9/2 WIN
Billy has yet to find any semblance of profit so far in the four weeks of the challenge but he remains bullish. After producing an X rated 'Elf on the Shelf' for his daughter involving a drink and drive hit and run it is fair to say he is back to his normal controversial self. On his selection he said ' Never question me or the Hoff' but then went on to explain that 'He would have cantered to victory had it not been for a fall last time out so therefore he isn't too much up in the weights'
THE MARKET MOVER - DEBDEBDEB - 3.25 CHELTENHAM - 11/1 WIN
After a lively one Thursday night the only thing I am good for is curling up into a ball and feeling sorry for myself. Tequila is apparently not my friend. In better news though I managed to somehow bring home an elf hat and managed to not annoy the missus by sleeping in the spare room. I told myself I would research this selection to death but in reality I love the get out of jail stakes at Cheltenham, it makes me feel alive. I like the look of this one. It came second over course and distance before and needed the run last time out to get some fitness back. It is a big field but I am confident that it can dismantle them up the hill.
JOEY GAMBLE - KYLEMORE LOUGH - 1.50 CHELTENHAM - 8/1 WIN
Joey has been very quiet this week apparently having his 'finger in a lot of pies' in the north of England, with Joey that could mean absolutely anything. Surprisingly I received his selection early this morning, which seems an achievement after being out for Friday beers. Leading the challenge going into week 5 Joey doesn't feel it necessary to give me a reason for his selection. I would push him for one but it is likely he will inflict a rant about 'running this competition' as well as Lanzarote and the North of England and I can't be listening to that suffering from a 2 day hangover......... Just received an update 'My reasoning is I like it and I am the only one that picks winners Let's go Champ' I know this lad too well.
JJ THE JETPLANE - THOMAS BROWN - 1.50 CHELTENHAM - 10/1
Along with Billy he is struggling for a winner, and if he doesn't perform at Cheltenham this year then he may very well find himself on the back seat of the coach nursing a Tesco carrier bad full of vomit again. Another victim of 'Friday' beers JJ messaged us at 3am this morning to say 'That he hadn't even looked' It is more likely that he has focused more on his chicken kebab at the end of the night so I will update the blog when he surfaces which might not be for a while..........As I cant be waiting all day and people struggle to pick one horse each week I am tempted to put up Turban for him which is more likely to end up in the glue factory than win a race. But he finally woke up to give us Thomas Brown.
